Here's few of pics of the first car I bought when I was 15, a 54 Ford Vic. I'm 52 now and that was many moons ago (I actually had two, the blue one and '54 2 door sedan) My nephew (24) has the blue one now and will do what he does best to it. Here's mine. I bought it a little over four years ago when I was 16. I drive and work on it everyday. My lifetime project.
First car I bought in my senior year. 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe. I have rebuilt it 3 times over the last 44 years and still own it today. Over the years it has had an Allstate flathead rebuild, a 296 full load Merc flathead, a HP289 Ford and now a 350 SBC installed in it.
It's a small world, as I too have a '54 ford Victora as my first car. This is the beginning of '08, and has come a long way since then. Similar plans as you for it, just a really mild custom, late 50's early 60's style. It might end up with panels, but who knows what time will tell?

Bought this 52 Chev Htp ( I have shown this picture before on this site and said it was a 51, but a really good friend of mine in Portland tells me it was a 52..........guess my memory is going after 62+ years) when I was 15 (1961), and paid $105. It already had a 235 in it but the motor and trans were pretty tired. Put a 1955 Corvette 235 with factory tripower in it and rebuilt the trans. Was a great car. Nosed and decked and one piece winshield.
