I wasn't able to attend the Antique Nationals this year but my fiend Jerry was; and he sent me these pictures. Since I have not seen a lot of pictures of the event I thought I would post the pictures he sent me for all to enjoy. Hope this provides some inspiration and or eye candy for all. Enjoy!! 20180512_093500%20copy.jpg 20180512_093529%20copy.jpg 20180512_093549%20copy.jpg 20180512_093601%20copy.jpg 20180512_093610%20copy.jpg 20180512_093636%20copy.jpg 20180512_093659%20copy.jpg

    I live about 30min. away.
I got up to go, the rain was coming down. Not too heavy, but plenty enough to stop any drag racing.
The above shots, everything looks...sorta/almost dry..!
But, by the crowd, many had the same problem I did. Too bad, I was looking forward to going.

These are before and after photos. The car decided to make a left turn about 3/4 down the track. Obviously the aluminum axle did not fare to well! 20180512_123654_023.jpg 20180512_131642%20copy.jpg 20180512_131919%20copy.jpg 20180512_131934%20copy.jpg 20180512_132037%20copy.jpg

That was a nasty end to a pleasant set of Hotrods @woodiemike. Hope nobody was hurt. Thank your buddy for capturing the ambience of the event and thank you for posting them...;)

Know here on the HAMB as Hellmet. I wanted to post these pictures not only for what a beautiful job Billy has done with the car, but to emprise the attention to detail that he went through to make sure it was just like Jack had done. He even duplicated the hoops Jack had put on the spindle and axle to lock the car so no one would steal the car. Attention to detail!! 20180512_100427%20copy.jpg 20180512_100411%20copy.jpg 20180512_115606%20copy.jpg 20180512_132712%20copy.jpg 20180512_132736%20copy.jpg

I live about 20 minutes from the Speedway. While it was raining in Cucamonga, it was just cloudy at the speedway.
I got a late start due to my kids (11:00am) but got to watch several hours of drag races.

This is my personal favorite event in SoCal. Very laid back and really amazing cars. The photos don’t do it justice. Where else do you get to see a ‘32 Packard or Step-Down Hudsons race? Great way to spend $20.00.

Mike... The axle on the Calori roadster above looks suspiciously like an original Ed 'Axle' Stewart 'Dago'!
This roadster is a jewel, I had a chance to look it over up close...But your pics have really grabbed most of the detail.
Great event, every year...ex girlfriend and I attended the 1975 meet, hung with Kong Jackson and some of the 'heads'...the former Bud Bryan R&C roadster was there, right after the accident and subsequent sale. New owner Julian had a new rear section already on, some primer... the '29 Highboy was like meeting an old friend. (followed the build for months in R&C...)
Thanks for the great coverage. Miss that event...
