Well I picked up a '53 Chrysler New Yorker Deluxe today, factor 331 2bbl engine, power steering, fluid drive I believe. Took a few hours to get running but finally fired off, runs ok but seems to smoke pretty bad after you rev it up for a bit then let it idle down. I think i'll need to replace the valce stem seals if they don't soften up with some oil additive. This car had been shuffled around between a few different owners since the mid 70's and I have no idea when the last time it was started was but the plugs were new, the cylinders were oiled and the coolant had been drained by someone before it went into storage. The oil was clean and power steering/transmission fluid was full so I wasn't to worried about starting after all that time. Had to run off of a boat tank since the gas tank is full of varnish, ill drop the tank tomorrow and train it. The tires are all mismatched and falling apart but i''ll worry about those later when I do the brakes. So I guess what I need from all of you in the HAMB world is pictures and and info for inspiration and motivation. This is the 1st early hemi and 1st chrysler I've owned so I have a lot to learn about these old things.
