I've searched all the car meet pic sites I know of, but can only find photos of his '36 custom. Anyone out there with some pics of his highboy stored on the hard drive? Thanks in advance.
That is one helluva nice postwar style roadster. Truly great. Could not find any rearshot of it on my puter. Roadsterplans Chrisman?? Paul
I truly hope so I like how he uses a bit taller front tires than what's usual. Also, is he using '30-'31 stanchions, or was that an option in '29? I think I've only seen the fixed stanchions on the earlier A's. Thanks for the photos, friends!
The folding '28/'29 screen posts were an aftermarket accessory for the the early 'A's. I think their still available today from the Model 'A' suppliers.
Chrisman... the rubber is probably "Coker-tire" Firestone 700/16 in back & 600/16 in front. Belive one of the first "Hot Rod deLuxe" issues had a good feature on the "Choppers"-cars ( including `the `29 in Q ) Look it up Klaz
i know this is different cars....but i have the 6.00/7.00 x 16's on my cars i dont care for the look of the over exaggerated tire rake hopefully these pictures will help you some? sorry i dont have any more of the actual car your looking for Zach
That's true. The article is more focused on the Choppers as a club, though, and not so much on the individual cars. Still, it's a good read. I think you may be correct on the tire combo. It looks a bit like on Jim Jacob's tub, which is another of my favorites.
I can dig a subtler rake as well as a more exaggerated one, it's just different flavours. Both your cars look good, but the 44c roadster is something extra. Excellent, Zach!
chrisman roadsterplans is good plans I've seen the folding stanctions on eBay from time to time over the years. Not very common I think. I guess you have seen Many Betes old car. (personal fav). has 6.50/16 and 6.00/16. Paul
Folding 28-9 stanchions are vintage aftermarket stuff, or used to be, rarer than chicken lips. There were a couple different makes. Now available at your favourite speed shop. I have a bunch of "analoge" pics of the Fisher car I took at Antique Nationals a hundred years ago, if yo are interested I could drop them in the colour copier and send them by snail mail.
I wonder if Jake is to "blame" for that, he apparently likes them too. They both have unpinched frames as well. That would be really cool! I'll send you a pm later. Thanks!
Chrisman, The windshield posts are modified originals that were fucked up. We then used '32 stantions (stainless) and a vintage '29 frame and glass....L.B.
