Beetle, ive keep the pic of the merc you sent me on my desk for many months, wierd too, cuz i put it away when i did some straigteing up and was looking for it a couple days ago,i cant find it.but when ever someone would show up at the garage and ask about it ,id say "its Ol Beets" they would look at me kinda confused, but id look back at them like they should know... so bitchin
Old Beet, If there is one car that has been tugging at me since I was a kid it has been the the Merc from '49-'51. You've nailed it man. Nice rig. I see where it is going and I am envious!!!!!
Show the pics of them "WEIRD" tail lights and door handles!....hahaha.....of and guys Beetle is the only dude ya know with LIDO trim on there merc!.......... R E D M E A T
[ QUOTE ] i hope you bought that when you were "YOUNG BEET" too expensive nowadays... [/ QUOTE ] Haha, hey beet, tell em how much you got into that car, I dare ya.... -J.
Man, That thing id SWEET! What all have you done to it besides the chop? And what else do you have planned?
Thanks for the nice replys. K-Member posted that pic as I'm computer stupid, try to get some better pics soon. It really has a Granada 8 in(a little too narrow) under it. Done all the work by myself, other than K-Member helpin me set the roof on during the chop. Really a good driver, on a stock Merc frame. I see no reason to clip one.....OLDBEET
Hey Dad, do you remember how to post pics? I think 41 chev trucker may be able to give you a refresher course when he picks up his glass. You need to make your other pics smaller to post them, but at least you have a star photo album now....
SHIT YA ~! I love that car. Built that car in the driveway no cement - no asphalt - no roof in Washington State no less. Not bad for a kid in his prime (over 60 ).Beet did ya get the feeling back in yer fingers yet?-- Hey whats the star photo address---Feder
Here is the Merc we have been working on. A chop is way past our skills though. [image][/image] [image][/image]
Alleycat, a sawzall and a wire feed is all ya need. Tape measure comes in handy also. I did it in about 2 weeks part time, and I ain't no body man. Not a hard as I thought. Its a driver, lives outside, in the snow now!....OLDBEET
