T6 these two you posted look like they are having a bad hair day...... I can't help but ask could they possibly be related to the Packard girls???

Hamming it up are boxing great Jess Willard, a/k/a The Great White Hope, and Babe Ruth in 1923. Definitely not a good car photo, but at left is a tiny bit of what I am pretty sure is Babe's third series twin six custom bodied runabout. A closeup was in post 178. I am still trying to find a decent shot of the entire car.

Good point! But the setting looks like California, so it is also possible they paid good money to have their hair done up that way.

Yes, this is the one that was recreated and is now in the ACD museum in Auburn, Ind. The picture looks to be the original car.

Unfortunately, not at present. I can't recall ever seeing that picture before. Where did you guys purchase the series "Burn Em Up Barnes"???? I'd love to get them. I'm sure like the rest of you, half the fun of old movies for me is trying to identify the cars. They are the REAL stars, are they not????

The photo is at Giant's Despair Hill Climb. Wilkes-Barre, Pa., May 30, 1907. Willie Haupt won the event in a Chadwick automobile."

I have seen another photo of him airborn during the climb. The Chadwick was one of the highest quality early automoblies in the country at the time that also did very well in racing.

I've actually seen Burn Em Up Barnes in the discount bin at Wal Mart and Big Lots. I got mine off Amazon.com

But the best deal going is:
    "Burnt Rubber 20 Movie Pack"

go to Amazon.com and check this one out.
20 car movies, including the Serial Burn em up Barnes

    how can you go wrong?

And I've seen this one in the discount bins too.

One more thing on that Burn't Rubber movie pack, it also includes "Danger on Wheels" which features Lucky Teeter as stunt driver.
So looking for footage of Lucky's stunts, this will do it.

Before and after....Otto von Hagengurg parting the grass at Cleveland Air Races in 1937 in his Bucker Jungmeister, clearly a touch too low, but he only suffered minor injuries and flew the same routine the following day.

Easy for her to smile - she's not worried about Fido's long claws going through the lacquer. "Miss Valentine Richmond and friend 14 May 30."

Two Packard coupes. This 3rd series 6 sure had a bad day, in Milwaukee. An earlier and better looking model 116 is behind it.

Jim, I believe the car is powered by a ford v8. Very interesting. What you posted was a picture of of Schumacher Special #10 which was constructed by Gus Schumacher of Schumacher Motor Services, Yonkers NY in 1932. Here is a picture of the car under construction. In it's final form the windshield matches your picture exactly.

The owner of this Packard had a case of the wrinkles, and then some. His troubles had just begun...

Marion Davies (1897-1961) as Beverly Calhoun in "Beverly of Graustark" 1926. Despite all the European look, isn't this an American car? Can anyone identify the make?

T6..... It is a 1926 Cadillac series 314, 5-pass. coupe that looks like it has been given the treatment by Don Lee Cadillac for the movies.

I like it as I have a weak spot for Caddys....
