Well it's been a while! But I've got a few things done!

The bad fuel that was in the tank really made a mess of things. Especially the carb. Well, we finally got that all cleared up but it still wasnt running right. We pulled the heads off and found out one of the valves was stuck. It's unstuck now and running like a wet dream!!

I've picked up a few goodies in the past couple weeks. Maybe another week or so and we'll be doing some burn outs!

The truck looks great, a lot like my 50. It's wearing a 51 front.
One thing to consider. Before you try burnouts confirm what transmission you have. I have the light duty top shift 3 speed. It's the early design with the round bell housing. It's been through at least one flathead and is presently on it's second 302. Its functions well but it's the weak link in the drive train. It would be easy to tear it up. So keep that in mind.
Again, nice truck. Ain't you glad you did not persue the S-10 idea?

Truck is looking GREAT! Any chance you'll put beauty rings on there like the blue one you posted?

I don't know if you are aware of the "Orange " being correct in you're 8- B A or not . I would have gone for a strict stock restoration myself . That is definitely one solid piece you had to work from . scrubba

Thanks for the offer! With a little luck we'll have it done this week and on the road. My dad hopes to take it to the Canton cruise-in on Riverstone Parkway Saturday evening.

Got the new gas tank in. Fired up, runs like a scalded dog.

Here's a photo of Dad driving it back to the house from the shop.

    Win

The truck makes AMAZING power!! It's just a bI7ch to keep between the lines! Lol!

So it's all over the road, it pops out of 2nd gear, and the passenger's side rear wheel is wobbling. Not a bad list of things to iron out :)

The truck looks to be really solid.

Looking forward to seeing more progress.
Your getting me fired up to get back on mine.
    Cheers
