This is a great thread, Kirk, thanks for sharing the tour with us.

Normally I don't have a problem with rich guys collecting a lot of cool stuff. More power to 'em.

But damn! How many of these things does one collection need? Wouldn't it be better if about 80% of these were made available for guys to use? The owner would still have a nice collection.

  7. Thanks for sharing your photos with us. Awesome job as per usual.
Some people just don't get the do not reveal thing though.
    Later,
    Dick

Your right, think about it by the time this stuff does become available...how ever long it takes, it may just be for a car in a museum the way gas is going away....SET IT FREE!!!! LOL

  15. Holy wow. Unreal collection! Some beautiful cars in that bunch.

I agree totally on the $150,000,000.00 NART Spyder being waaaay off the mark. All 10 are now accounted for, and the number is really probably $15-$20M on the very outside. But thank you Kirk for the tour, a great way to start off the night.

  24. Sorry for the assumption, there is a recent post showing a bunch of those cars for sale. I think the post was over on the "Dogfight" forum. I won't post the link though, and sorry if I offended anyone, with my earlier reply to someone else's post on this thread.

No, Calhoun was an Indy roadster, that car is a "dirt car" designed for the 1 mile fairgrounds tracks that were a big part of the national championship in those days.

WOW!! This is beyond fantastic. Thanx to both the poster and those who allowed their toys to be shared. Really woulda liked to see a better picture of that light blue 78 IMSA Corvette built by JLP. Absolutely wild/stunning car. When that car was new, I snuck into the pits of an IMSA race and then wandered into the tech barn like I knew what I was doing. Took a whole 36 exposure roll of the car while it was apart for tech [IMSA gave it a GOOD going over - it's pretty radical] only to find the film itself had broken through the little 'roll holes' after the first exposure when I went to have it developed... Never got to see the car again.
Thanx again - I'll look thru this post again many times once I'm off of 'overload'.
Oh, don't want to be a pain or anything, but that little race in France is LEmans.
