I was trying to get it ready for Midnight Mass. but as we all know it didnt happen. It was a ROCKIN show but would have been better is the roadster was there. Now Im shootin for Vegas. Im gonna go now matter what but there really shouldnt be any reason the roadster cant go along. Some people say just get it far enough so it can get on a trailer. " Just park it around the corner and drive it in". Sorry if its gonna go, its gonna go the whole 9, from Merced to Vegas and thats that.

Just found this thread and; I was looking at your mock-up block. First thing I notice is the pop-ups, then the old road draft tube, and then I look at the rib cast in the block in front of the valley, you know, right above where the water pump bolts on. Thing is if you can barely get your finger in there it's a 283 block, and it's kinda hard to tell from the pics but the space between the cylinders is kinda small,,,,,,,,
Me guesses that's one of them there 301's, just in need of a bit of freshening up. Am I right???

P.S.; I got me some pieces to build another one of those, greatest little motor ever!!! Just don't put a hydraulic in it, that'd ruin it!

UNCLEE- When I ran the numbers, it came back as a 1955 265 on one site. I then found another site that said it was a 283. The block was .060 over and had alot of pitting. There was no way to clean it up except to sleave it. A brake drum from the car, a piston, rod and half of the cam was donated to our Club pick trophy at Midnight Mass that DRUGASM and USED UP JUNK built. That was a good donation in my book. Some one put alot of hours, sweat, blood, tears and I can bet a whole dumpload of green backs to build a bad ass show car. In return, they won a piece of my bucket. What a concept. I love it.

Looks great, I'm building a 25 Dodge tub roadster out of an old two door touring Tognottis drag car. Took 5" out of the middle, both doors open. Will have pics soon.

 

Lookin' good Loddy! I'm going to tear into my truck tomarrow and Vince is rocking on his truck. It's like old (well not that old) times everyone is thrashing on thier rides again!
