Great shots even by your standards,Doug. Did you have special access to get that close to the strip?

  9. First off.... Thanks Mazooma1 for ALL the awesome shots!

Secondly.... Who the hell ever said that Hemi's were rare? Damn near every car had one!

I watched most of the coverage as well as posted the coverage on the H.A.M.B. from Bangshift and it was one hell of a show!

That yellow '33 Willys was killer and I believe that Nash wagon won it all (I know it was in the finals).

Man you musta had one damn good time!

Oh and a straight axle Vega is just soooo wrong on so many levels.

The shots of Riceman's restorations were worth the price of admission alone, his craftsmanship is simply unbelievable! Then the rest followed...I saw most of the SoCal cars in their original form many years ago, and to see these pictures of them with such detail is just mindblowing, never would have imagined that, what, 45 years ago or so, that these would either be restored or recreated...but the best part is your pictures, no one does it better....hope your back gets better, those of us with bad backs wince just at your description, brave of you to stand 6 hours...all I can say is, THANKS!

What an eye full!! Awesome pics. The chizler is a favorite. My father in law was the flagman in karimisenes lane at Alton on the 204 run. Great to see all the restored or recreated cars. Thanks!!rs59

Thanks for taking the time to take and share the great photos of real race cars at a race. We see too many I went to the drags threads that just show the parking lot posers and not the actual race cars with the history behind them that these cars have.

I'd sure like to see more photos of the engine compartment of that little Rootbeer brown 31 A sports coupe with the 8BA in it though. If anyone took any shots that show the firewall well I'd appreciate having them pm'd to me or a link to them.

  28. Mazooma......Great pictures as always !!!!!!!! I went out for the day on sat. and had a blast as always. It got a little hot but what a great event it was.I always love your pictures because they are focused on what the event is.Of coarse the quality is always second to none which makes them even more enjoyable.

Doug, Thanks for the great pics, nice job. I'd like to give a shout out to my friends Mike and Janice Olson in that very fine '58 Nomad. What a beautiful car.
