hey guys, I’ve been nosing around about this car and all I can seem to find is one photo and one blurb of info. Someone’s gotta have more? I’ve searched and found nothing so figured I’d just create a new post. What do we know? 1958 He bought a 32 roadster and sold the body keeping the frame and grill. Eventually the engine got a vette dusl quad intake and some 11 fin vette valve covers. That’s it! I can see some of the bits and pieces in this photo but I can’t find anything in print or another photo of the car? It’s always this photo? Figured it was to cool to not ask.
LOL and I thought that was someone pretending to be cool. Well I can tell you something just from the photo, the grill shell is green and black.
Pete’s son (PC4) has been known to lurk on the H.A.M.B. (username @Peter Chapouris). Perhaps he has some more info or photos of PC3’s high school hot rod.
LOL needs fenders for east coast. and its got California headlight stands. (did they have a headlight height law on the East coast back then?????)
Talked to Slovers today who reached out to Pete’s son. Seems the one photo and little bit of info is all we have. The photo is his senior year after he started building the car when he was 14. So dang cool
I remember Pete writing about building that car. When he reversed the rear wheels, after he drilled out the rivets, and turned the centers around, he took them to Art Chrisman to be welded.
Any idea where that might be written? I’m going to sift thew some more books the next couple days. He went to Arroyo in El Monte ca so any chance there would be a photo in the don Montgomery books?
