The young and dumb are just trying to learn, it's the old dumb that think they know it all that bug me.

 

waiting around at a car show to chat with the owner of a car i like and pick his brain on how he did certain things then finally getting the chance and come to find out he knows nothing about how his car was built.. credit card hot rods... GGGRRRRR..

and another one.. people that assume you don't know anything because you're younger than them.. was shooting the shit about motors at work the other day and a guy who says he's been building GM motors "since you were in diapers" trys to tell me that Buick 350 and a Chevy 350 were the same thing..

 

Yeah and I was taught that motors ran on electricity. And engines ran on gas

How about the old guy in the parts house trying to get gaskets for his old Wagoneer with a 390 inch motor;

Internet DRAMA!

 

People on this forum or other "auto related" forums that interject their political opinions at every opportunity, even though no one gives a rat's ass what their political persuasion might be, at least I don't. I have to say thou, I see a lot less of that here then on some other sites.

 

...or, when someone calls a 400 Ford, a smallblock 400. I've pretty much found out through the years that most folks don't know shit about Fords. I don't hold it against them though, because I've been working on them all my life and I learn something new every time.

It happens in about 80% of all threads. Someone will piss another person off and then ................ Presto .............. Internet Drama!

 

Anyone remember the "School is not a verb" thread. Classic pet peeve thread.

a really big YUP, but the other side of that one...

yup, "...it's your car..." is a cop out...

another big YUP. This has been gaining momentum lately too. Good manners are meant for more than your old aunts and uncles at holiday dinners. It should speak about the person's upbrining. There's some real, uh, never mind. Not worth it.

 

Gettin gas at the gas station and someone says "Cool Car what is it" and you try and tell him but he interupts to tell you about his 75 Monte Carlo he had in High School.

Or when your seelling a car and someone E-mails you asking questions, when you answer the questions he declines to buy the car but sends you pictures of his own cars. Or you get the "My wife wont let me buy it".
I love to answer back "Well I thought I was talking to a man"...

 

Ahh, bitterness. Great for breakfast and lunch. There are some good ones on here, I'll ad a couple of mine.

People who pat every hack on the back and say "nice job" just to be the nice guy

for your information,there are 2 builds of cars referred to a s shoeboxes, 1949-1951 fords and 55 56 57chevrolets. the jury is still out on which came first....i say ford.
