One is the guy that comes up to you at a cruse night and says " NICE ROADSTER DUDE" In my case i'm driving a pick up but he thinks all hot rods are roadsters.

Then the guys who call 55 Chevy's shoe boxes.

 

Most people on the 49 Merc.sled especially young ones usually ask me, "What is it" ?

 

People that call Chevy 11s deuces and modern mirrors on old cars.

 

Noobs who welcome other noobs to the HAMB, but I don't lose too much sleep fretting over it.

 

Third brake light on prewar cars.

 

people who come up to you at a gas station or convenience store and say "hey , you know about cars...what's wrong with my `97 Buick?"

Lately from the Chevelle guys around here. I'm gonna build me one of them ratrods.

 

People ask me "what kind of door handles" on my 49 Merc. I tell them stock, and they want to argue! Now I just say Kelvenator Refridgerator (sp).

 

People callin' my Falcon Ranchero an El Camino!!! AARRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!! Rancheros were born first!

Them: "Oh look! He put a big block in that Ranchero" Me: "Excuse me! No! It's a 351 Cleveland... a Ford Small Block!"

Many years ago I had a 36 sedan with a 283 adapted to the stock drive train. It looked like it was restored A guy comes out of the parts store and says "I love it when you keep it all stock instead of putting a Chevy into it and turning it into a roadster". My buddy looked at me and said "If only it would turn into a roadster!"

I'm driving my basically stock flathead powered 36 Ford P/U and a a guy pulls up and asks "what year is that truck?" I say " A 36". He says "not with that grill in it it's not" Uh...OK? If you say so.

 

People who post useless threads like "Pet Peeves"...

The word "HOT ROD" or "traditional" being used to descibe every old car or truck here on the HAMB .Just throwing a car together with old parts does not make it a hot rod or traditional build.

"When ya going to paint it, what color, how much ya gonna chop it, It'll be nice when your done". After explaining that it is done, just 2 years late for it's five year repriming, I've had someone actually say that I don't deserve my own car!!! Oh ya, "nice rat rod" too.... (grrrrrrrr!!!!)

 

Going to a fancy zombie restaraunt, waiting 45 minutes for brains, and then they arrive COLD.

It always irks me when people call wheels "rims".

at least they ask, you are missing an opportunity there, get em while they are young, before they get older, and start calling your car something it isn't

I hate it when newbies ask for advice or opinions, then get angry at the responses and only accept the "do what you want" comments...and those bastards that always post "is your car do what you want". (no shit Einstein!) give him your opinion, thats what they ask for! not if you want to steer the build for him!

 

When people around here actually KNOW what my shit is, and know more about it than me. Ha ha.
