When replacing a GM HEI dizzy with a pertronix ignitor fired dizzy, how should it be wired up?. I assume that the red wire from the ignitor goes to the + on coil and black to - (like the instructions say for a points swap), but what about the heavy red and light black wires from the car that plugged into the HEI?
It doesn't hook up that way. The wires go to a switched hot, and to a ground. Contact Pertronix, and they'll tell you/send you a diagram...
Are you refering to the red/black from the ignitor or the red/black from the car that used to plug into the HEI? I've tried to contact pertronix but get put on hold for a LONG time so I thought I'ld try here. I edited my OP slightly to make the question clearer. Thanks
