When replacing a GM HEI dizzy with a pertronix ignitor fired dizzy, how should it be wired up?. I assume that the red wire from the ignitor goes to the + on coil and black to - (like the instructions say for a points swap), but what about the heavy red and light black wires from the car that plugged into the HEI?

  2. It doesn't hook up that way. The wires go to a switched hot, and to a ground. Contact Pertronix, and they'll tell you/send you a diagram...

Are you refering to the red/black from the ignitor or the red/black from the car that used to plug into the HEI?

I've tried to contact pertronix but get put on hold for a LONG time so I thought I'ld try here.

I edited my OP slightly to make the question clearer.

    Thanks
