  4. Been a subscriber to The Rodder's Journal since day one (1994) ... started lurking on the H.A.M.B. in 2004 ... and (at the urging of @49ratfink) finally joined in 2006.

I long ago realized that TJJ & TRJ perfectly complemented each other (i.e., were great "companion reading") ... so reading this really made me smile :) :
Thank you @TRJ (Geoff Miles / Steve Coonan), @J.Ukrop (Joey Ukrop), @Curt Six (Curt Iseli), @J. Fitzhugh (Jay Fitzhugh), @pgan (Pat Ganahl), and all other (past & present) contributors to The Rodder's Journal publication ... Long live QUALITY print media!

  5. I've been patiently waiting (for over 3 years) to purchase more TRJ Slipcases:

Have you found a suitable source for these high quality slipcases? ... I need at least four (4) of the "Slipcase #2" units.

Thanks, Steve, I'm a Lifetime subscriber, and daily visitor here on the HAMB, and love both.
Congratulations, and continued success to each of your endeavors.

  7. Thanks for the read. Steve is a nice guy. Met him at a 4th of July hot rod party a few years ago.

As someone who has every issue of TRJ, I truly appreciate the Herculean effort it takes to produce this fine publication.
Steve and the staff never fail to give me the historically accurate view of where our hobby and passion came from.
They also showcase some of the finest recent builds of Rods and Customs today.
A big Thank you from all of us!

  9. As a lifetime member and a hoarder of every issue of TRJ it was great to read this and hear it’s not going away, there’s just something about holding a magazine in your hand versus flipping through pictures on my phone. I appreciate the huge effort it takes creating and documenting hot Rod history. I’m thankful you guys are still at it!!!

  10. Good read, Steve, thanks. But really, thanks for what you guys do. Even when print was still running strong, in '94 I was fresh out of school, starting my practice and hoping for enough money to pay rent and buy food. I dropped all my subscriptions to save cash and hoped for enough each month to buy my favorites off the newsstand. Even though it cost more, TRJ was always my first pick simply because of the history, the dot connecting and the how we got from here to there as you said. It was, and is, worth every penny. I look forward to running my life time subscription to a ripe old age and still hanging on every word.

You and me both... I complained about that just the other day and was told they have found an American manufacturer and they should be back in stock within the next couple of months.

I have every issue. I think it would be great if there was an index for quick reference whether it be in print form or updated every year online of each issue (starting with #1)to revisit the featured cars without thumbing through mucho issues searching for a particular article.
I’ve lost the ability of total recall, :rolleyes:this would help.:)

I met Steve at Pleasanton in '98 through my old friend Pat Ganahl. It was a real treat to spend 3 hrs or so with the Lens Master, shooting my car on a Sunday evening. IMG_4236.JPG

Steve, refreshing to read a straightforward and heartfelt editorial. Missed those days, guys like Ganahl, Emanuelson and Kelly could not only give you a peek of their vision but include yours as well! I collect old mags, probably a reach that I consider even the " dark '70's" worthy of chronicling and preserving, which print media does. We've lost some major players these last few, I still hope for the best with HR, love your mag and Hop Up.

I have been doing the HAMB Alliance/TRJ renewal special for years but signed up as a life time member this year. Looking forward to many more issues of TRJ. I especially enjoy the in progress features and the history you showcase.

    Thanks,

14 year subscriber here. Steve, what shows will TRJ be at this year? Anything on the east coast? Any chance of another Pimlico event?

I have every issue from #1 to date. One year I was at the L.A. Roadster Show and TRJ had a table set up, at the end of the day on Sunday I went to the booth and bought every issue I was missing at the time. (#1 included) That was one heavy box to carry on the plane home!

I compliment Both TJJ and TRJ on their continued successes...If you're gonna do something do it right and You both have consistently delivered on that...Thank you, it is comforting to know your on solid ground and it rather compliments my Total Hotrod/ Custom Experience...

I am not a heavy reader but the Rodders Journal certainly offers a premium experience and I do have a collection of these gems albeit not near as complete as many here...

Great post !! First and foremost......introverts unit !! Glad to hear that Ryan and Steve share the fine attributes many of us proudly possess.
I have every TRJ proudly cataloged in my office. I did have a lapse in my subscription and had to do Barnes and Noble newstand for several years .......besides being an introvert, I am also a huge procrastinator........as my brother says" I used to be a "crastinator" but I finally turned "pro" several years ago. Again, thanks to Ryan and the Hamb, I renewed my subscription just this week when there was discussion on here about a discount offer out there.

And just like my generation often recalls key dates......."where were you on the day President Kennedy was shot" (I was in high school). I remember vividly where I was when I discovered TRJ.......I was blessed to combine a business trip to California with a visit to the LA Roadster Show.......and there was Pat Ganahl with past issues and new subscriber forms.........Thanks Pat,Steve and Ryan for changing my life forever ! Have fun.

  30. Damn nice to hear somebody in the biz lay it down that print ain't going anywhere. With the weaker magazine titles gone let the strong survive!
