52 F3, Try to have enough room to remove/install the fan belt without moving the engine.

checked out your build thread, very nice stuff. I hear yeah about tight clearances, it's nice to have things fit very neatly and close, but I need to find/make a little bit for my pulley.
I think my radiator is alot taller than yours, my issue was fan to lower crossmember clearance. that's why i'm using the "water pump raise thing" :) my distributor is also going to be tight, won't be able to take out with body on :(
    upload_2017-1-23_17-17-16.png

yeah, I really would like to be able to change the belt without raising the engine. I'm thinking about ideas now.
I just noticed I didn't use the 1/4" thick starter mounting plate during mockup.
heading out to stare at awhile now

I found I could move the engine/trans back about 1/4" by flexing front mounts. I'll re-drill rear transmission mount later, but this came just the same time I was considering "mid-engine" mounts... here's HAMB thread http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...front-mount-help.1045176/page-2#post-11881582
so I built them to not only support some of the weight but hold the engine forward/aft in exact spot.

also got a couple more parts nickel plated including my brake pedal :)

I really like little details... thanks

I usually post pictures after I "pretty up" stuff I build or modify. Well; my crankcase vent tube needed to be flattened out a little and bent to miss exhaust etc..... I bet we heated up 30 different times and it ended up much uglier that this picture shows, (but does fit). not sure what i'm going to do with it now...

lol................ hope your "back in action" after your last friday tune-up.

Me and Rex are acting like winter lasted 2 years..... taking advantage of nice weekend weather to get frame some fresh air and prep to paint hopefully.

rushed the primer and prep, but couldn't miss these 30 degree above normal temp. and low humidity days... (plus I paint most everything with a brush or spray can)

I'm super excited frame is 99% done and starting to put together.

I built exhaust with mockup engine that used a standard mounting starter. when I installed the Danchuk starter adaptor plate my downpipe hit it. I had to grind off over 1/2" of the plate for clearance, then I thickened with this little piece hopefully add back strength.

Nice oversized pulley on the alternator. Will it spin fast enough at idle to charge? I had one on an OT car and had to keep an eye on the voltage gauge when idling and raise the revs when it dropped too low. the person that bought the car wasn't a real car person and ignored my advice and ended up draining the battery.

I'm gonna guess no, but I had it laying around and used to build mount etc.... Plan to check voltage when I get it running.

Was a crazy productive weekend, a couple neighbors stopped by with perfect timing. everything was going back together without too many issues... I guess now i'm due for a setback.

thanks, I know it can be pretty polarizing... some like it, some hate it.
I also can't wait for "completed", or at least starting/running/stopping etc.... I have a whole winter worth of plans for the interior, but want to get driving first.

Yes Tommy, It makes phone calls also.......;) lol.....

since going with 4 wheel drum brakes i'm gonna try to get to work good as I can. decided to use a Willwood adjustable proportioning valve for fine tuning and some 10 lbs. residual valves to help keep shoes from creeping off. didn't really pre-plan routing lines, trying to stay away from exhaust will be biggest challenge.

about 4 hours split between 3 days after work has gotten some brake lines/hoses/brackets run..... must admit I have a TV in garage and the Maroon n Gold chair is pretty comfortable. But truth is i'm pretty slow sometimes.

really should've figured out parking brake earlier....

this bellcrank is from a 51 ford F-1, same one I got the rear drums and cables from, no sure how i'm going to mount it yet. (maybe to the body floor along with front cable and handle)
