Overplayed. The fakers ruined the appeal for me.

Patina (as in worn paint) gets a pass on a car with a history (not at some yahoo track either). Rust, is..... fucking rust. The idea is to get rid of rust. I dare say, there are NO members here, who got a new bike at Christmas and wished it was rusted out. Neglect has NEVER been popular and no matter how hard a person trys to validate it, it's still shit.

Your thoughts and opinions may vary. USA.....USA.....USA

I was thinking the same on the Yahoo track comment.

If it has other competitors, its a race track to me

More people would look at my "patinaed" 35 then a $100,000 street rod parked next to it. Hate the crappy look but it gets the looks.I will do more to it......someday.

  16. Hey Scrappie, love your coupe.

  17. I'll get to it this weekend, maybe.

  19. Worn paint & a little rust not traditional? Depends on the period. Prewar & immediate post war cars were typically rougher around the edges than later varieties. Note the following examples (rusted out bun panels on the RPU and little in the way of uniform paint on the others)...somebody might ought to go back to the 40's and set these guys straight.

By the time my little brother got his 20" bicycle, mine looked like crap...I mean patina.

So I told him we were gonna make his bike look cool like mine. Got out Dad's hammer and went ot work on the rear fender. Tap tap tap tap tap tap tap.

Mom came out of the house and yelled, "Ricky! What are you doing to your brother's bike???!!!

So in answer to your question...Mom doesn't like "patina" and really started "bitchin".

    Hope that helps.
