I am planning on going Friday morning. Haven’t missed many since the early 90s. Wish it was still at the original location except for the muddy mess. The company my dad worked for was owner of Pate and we spent lots of time there even when it was not open. CN
Me and two friends going all day Thursday and till about Noon on Friday. This is our 3rd trip from Southeast Missouri and we have all been looking forward to it since last year! I have my shopping list all ready. Lynn
We're heading out in the morning. This will be my first trip...been trying to go for years. I'm really excited to finally go!
Hmm...I haven’t been to Pate even since they moved it from the museum a LONG time ago. And, seems I won’t make it again this year. I do have memories of that meet from when I was too young to like to be there. My dad would drag me around the whole what felt like about 1,000,000 acres when I was an early teen. Now, that is my idea of fun. You guys have fun.
Shoot, wish you were coming- would be fun to share a story or two about the “old days”. Maybe next year?
In my mind it’s not as much fun as the old meet but I’ve rounded up a lot of leftover parts from the Merc project that I’ll be selling and hope to visit with old Friends. It is huge.
My son n law & I go ever year 'cept when I was in Afghanistan...But he got his leg broke by a 10 yr old Girl & a Softball two weeks ago & is down...so I sold my spots for this year to a nice guy named Gary from Kansas! Instead I'm draggin the big camper to Tupelo & going to the Blue Suede Car Show! See yall next year!
Didnt take many pictures, mainly old dirt bikes and a few cars that were for sale. Phaeton was 45k, 36 Was 60k, The red Olds was original but needed some cleanup 19k, the Blue Olds was mint inside and out 22k, Fleetline was pretty solid and completley redone, nice interior and one of those real popular ot drivetrain swaps 42k. Its back in full swing, place was pretty packed for thursday. ..
Pate was pretty good this year. I heard 12,000 vendors spaces up from 10,000 last year. They set up an extension to the swap meet out in the parking area. It was large enough to be a decent swap meet by itself. Lots of stuff had decent prices. The weather was very nice, not hot. I talked to Howells Sheetmetal about rear fenders for 33-34 Ford pickup. $680 EACH
I went Wednesday through Saturday. I sold $100, and bought $99 worth of stuff. I came home $1 richer. Ten thousand steps on Friday!
