Wedge cutting IS NOT pancaking. The term "pancaking" is being missused nowadays. Real pancaking means to remove some of the outer flare (of a hood usually), and reduce the diameter. Instead of a large bell-shaped hood, you now have the outer ring of the bell welded to the fenders and just the top "pancake" opens up. Requires building a whole new lip for the hood opening.
