painting a power steering pump

    is it ok to paint a saginaw resivoir type power steering pump ? I didnt know if it would build up harmful heat or something like that...I've got some left over POR-15 engine paint and would like to give it a coat....thanks.....Whid

    If heat transfer is a concern, there's always Eastwood's radiator paint.

    Por-15 works great for pumps, racks etc the big flat areas on the resevoir tend to come out not-so-good though, por 15 tends to come out like shit on big flat surfaces.

    Make sure that damned thing is clean, you'd be astounded at the places oil hides on the surface of one of those pumps and then your paint job will look like crap.
