I fabricated and painted this grille insert. My question is do you think it would be better to have the the outer perimeter flange painted black as the grille shell is and have just the bars painted white thus giving the apearansce that the insert is narrower ?
Id paint it a different color,Bear with me,It looks great ,Id blend the whole thing later after you get your car closer...Alot of guys want a stainless 32 insert and being stainless they look massive on the front of car Im painting mine like the original except instead of a grey center ,Semigloss black....Car is black. It will blend in ,Not stick out....Thats just my opinion ,Thus making it look one peice,,,,
i think id paint it something besides white like maybe a silver or gray and also paint atleast a 1/4 inch of the edge black
When it comes to colors white always pops out like a sore thumb, while dark colors reseed and give a more subtle look. I would paint the grille lip semi-gloss black and the teeth flat black. The black look will look good with any color you paint the car. Good luck with your build. CRUISER
Firstly great job on the insert. If you like the white you might consider painting it more of a matt cream to blend a little better. Also the suggestion of painting the edge gloss back would look good. Martyn
