Painted my 64 Nova wagon recently. Just a bit off white in color with base coat / clear coat. Its to shiny, doesnt at all look like a 64ish paint job to me. I'm not into ratty looking stuff and dont want it completely flat but it just seems to much to me. Any suggestions? Would a single stage enamel be a better choice? Suggestion welcomed!

    how old of paint?
maybe try a rag with some lacquer thinner or some good reducer & see if that takes the shine off. try it down low & experiment with some chemicals.

We used white Scotch-Brite and Substrata a couple of years ago to dumb down the base/clear touch up on an unrestored car. Great way to blend to nice old paint.

the old paints shined like a mothafucka when polished. i wouldnt worry about it being "too shiny".

Maybe I was just so used to it being a spotted dog that it too nice compared to what I'm used to. Thanks for suggestions guys.
