We have touched on this once before but I wanna ask again.
I want to paint the 36 ina Navy blue but I don't want the metallics that are common in a bc/cc product. I want a patina but minus the rust.

I would like to replicate the original finish, as far as the color hue, maybe a little more gloss. Can this be done in a bc/cc?

your best bet would be to use acrylic enamel, then acrylic clear over that.as it is more of a rubbed out finish, looks much more old school than 2 pack paint.you could spray the blue, then colour sand it back thru to primer(use a red oxide clour primer as that was common back then) on areas that would have 'sun faded' or been worn thru with use(such as where your elbow hangs out the window) then clear over the whole thing.

I guess I could spray a urethane/single stage but I really hate rubbing out single stage. It always loses that original luster. Don't know....
