Go on line, '46 Ford Paint Codes! Will show all of the colors and give the name of the color. Should not be to hard to find what your car is!
I did that, no colors matched mine and it is orginal. I cannot find a code on any part If body. I need a paint code#.
Here's a paint chip chart for the 1946 Ford. However, the codes given probably won't match new codes so you'll need to find someone who can translate them to modern paint. http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/aclchip.aspx?image=1946-Ford-pg01.jpg
If you look at stuart in mn site, you'll notice a Dynamic Maroon, that is the color on my car. It's now Spectramaster Red, A Dupont code, single stage paint. Refinish Supply in Sioux Falls, SD, mixed it for me. 605-362-6950
I use paintref, com it will allow you to pick the make and year. Shows a small color chip, the color name, number and cross references to modern paint codes.

I painted my 32 sedan Indian motorcycle navajo blue, had the original ppg paint code but it was a pain in the ass to cross over to base clear. Keep at it you will get it.
Autocolor library is associated with or hosted by tcp global, which has their own paint line in enamel urethane and lacquer. As well as selling other brands. Find the color you like and call them. I bet theyll match it for you.
