Im about to start the body & paint work on my mild Kustom 51 Hudson coupe. Gonna be semi-gloss black w/red rims & wide whites.
The Dupont offering is too hi $ so I'm lookin for advice on a good, hard automotive type paint that wont break the budget.
    Thanks. Paul/pacemaker. Austin Tx

    Hey,

There are several enamels on the market that with the addition of
a urethane cross -linker give you the service of a urethane at the
price of an old alkyd enamel. Rustolum, Nason & Western come to
mind. Any of these can be mixed with a flattner to get the semi-
flat look you are probably after. Without the addition of the cross-
linker you'll just have an old air dry alkyd enamel with a service
    life of 2-4 years.
