What do you think? Should I run the stock rear bumper pushed out around five inches and run a continental kit, or should I try to make a custom rear bumper using 56 chevy ends? Im leaning towards continental kit. Does anyone know if 56 chevy ends will match up to my stock bumper if I cut it down?

Back in the 'day', we hot rodders called continental kits "manure spreaders" whether they were OEM or added onto a custom. Arghliness all the way.

Don't do it - your taillight job is looking just fine.

Sounds like a big No-No.......Im gonna make some brackets and mount up the stock bumper for now. I mocked it up last night and it didn't look that bad. I'm gonna go and paint the whole car too. Thinking black but a dark brown has been milling around in my head too.

I dont have the funds to get my tail lights rechromed....what can I do to take out the pits and make them look ok. I have heard there is a powder coat that looks like chrome. What about chrome paint. Anyone tried lead solder smoothed out????

Thanks!! Not bad for a dubba who really hasn't even welded much before. I am by no means a metal fab guy, or a body man. I just don't have the money to have pro's do my work. Not perfect by any means, but pretty proud of what I accomplished. This was my first ever fab project.

I can dig it. I'd love to have a '50 Buick, and I'd atleast want some chrome fins off a '52. I'd be curious to see how '58 fins would look on it.

I personally think that if you're going to have custom tailights like that, you should do other custom things to the car so they don't look out of place.
