i just wanted to let everyone know that there are 1 of 588 58 packard hawks at u-pick-it in kansas city. looks like it had a very serious engine fire. there is not a whole lot left of it. the interior is burnt beyond saving. it had a carbed sbc swapped into it at one point, so there is no blower or associated engine pieces left (damn!) and i grabbed all the stainless trim. the fiberglass nose section and hood are completely destroyed. front bumper chrome center section, rear bumper look good. doors, trunk lid, and fins. may be salvageable, or might be warped beyond repair due to the fire. i took pics, but can't retrieve them off my phone.

Being a Packard guy,I'd say that's the BEST thing that could have happened to a UGLY1958 Packard.

If any car ever deserved to be on the 'ugly cars made cool thread' that'd be it! But I'm not certain how it could made cool?

I googled the image and at first thought, "Hey, that aint so bad", until I saw a side profile... "DANG" what an ugly ass over bite. I'd say the front bumper has potential on a custom somewhere, but that's about all.

I found one in the middle of Nevada in a warehouse once. The pics don't really do it justice, as they do look better up close. Don't know about those padded outside armrests though.

Strip off all the crap, put on a 53-54 Stude front clip (metal or fiberglass) and you have an icon.

Not a custom we're talking about here, but a factory built/production car.

    LOWBLAZERO1,

Did you notice if the fake continental spare tire and spinner were still there? I've been trying to find one for my P.H. Also looking for that oddball bumper jack if you happened to notice. Tried calling these folks and got a recorded message; apparently they won't remove parts for buyers and ship them or they'd have another number.

Always looking for these if anyone knows where any are.
