This is the first posting of my current project, a 1933 Ford Pickup. I picked up this truck over a year ago in Oklahoma saving it from a 2WD mail jeep chassis. My project began in Feb 06. It was quite an event starting at 5:00 AM Friday and ending Sunday evening. I had no troubles getting my 34 year old 4x4 pickup and U-Haul trailer to Oklahoma but getting home was another story. During the trip I: Developed a parasitic oil leak (A quart every 50 miles) Replaced valve cover gaskets (helped some but didn't stop the leak Overheated Burned two valves (One in each head of course) Replaced a radiator Lost all dash lights Fried an alternator Missed my exit without realizing and drove past the St. Louis Arch ......twice. (I was really hoping St. Louis had two arches) Drove through a tornado Ah, but I made it home to Ohio and even returned my rental trailer (covered in oil) before the deadline. Oh, but I couldn't turn the truck off cause I was worried it wouldn't restart, and it's a manual, and the e-break is seized, so I used some wheel chalks to park while I unhooked the trailer. So before I could even think about starting on my hot rod I needed to rebuild "TNT" ( TNT stands for Tough N Tender what my future wife calls my baby blue truck)
So fast forward a year and some change and I finally have the truck back on the ground at least it can roll again. I'll be done by Memorial Day ...right?
Sounds like we have the same travel requirements.. Well except I have my own stretcher. The 33 looks evil.. how much longer ya think?
I was serious about the Memorial Day goal, I know it's unrealistic I need to focus on it to keep my momentum going. Seriously though I plan on taking it to Speed Week this Aug. I'd like a good month of driving before a cross country trip to shake the bugs out.
is that about a 2" z you got back there?, it so subtle its hard to tell?i have 2 33's im workin on for some customers but neither of them want them that low. yrs looks sweeet. comin along great
