Several pics of my year long outlawed SDRA build. Probably bracket race with it and get another class going. Almost finished. Gonna fire it up and take it for a first spin tomorrow. I have around $3000 invested in this car. $3525 if you count the welder and the tubing bender purchases.

The wide slicks were just for mocking up. Running either Cokers or pie crusts.

Dragster is looking nice. I think you have the right idea in bracket racing the car for a while in your area and see if there is any interest in others building one. Only time will tell. You will still have a great time making passes.

Thanks Old28! Actually many of the SDRA member have expressed an interest in it. We may get the v-8 voted in after all. Also, I have spoken to many of the local tracks around here about starting a new class.

You've come a long way and the car looks very well built. You should have a ton of fun with it next season.

Nice, but I'm not too crazy about your butterfly wheel. In a front inpact that can get jarred out of your hands and spin around crazily, creating a meat grinder effect. Radius the corners and add some radiused gripps for looks AND safety.

It was just an experiment. I have a small round steering wheel on it now.

Thank you! Took my maiden voyage last week on the street in front of my house. More pics to follow soon. Gotta construct a turtle deck and finish the cowling this weekend.

Almost there... After I get the fuel tank mounted this week, she'll be headed to the powder coaters.

Nice! I've had mine in the street a few times. Iteresting front suspension. Are the spring just resting against the tubular crossmember?

Like the T style body work with turtledeck. What is the front axle setup? What spindles are you using?

I made the front axle. The spindles are off of an old micro midget I raced about 20 years ago. I have a early 40s ford axle with a set of Hayden wheels on the way.

  24. Harry506,
been following your thread and have a question for you. Are you going to install any more bars in the cage,Especially about half way up from the shoulder bar around the sides and back of the cage? Without those it may not pass tech if you plan to run at a sanctioned track.Being a tech inspector that would be one of the first things I would notice. Not trying to be nit picky but rather just trying to save a fellow racer from any hassle and also the safety factor of those bars keeping you in the cage and keeping stuff from coming in at you as well.

Where are you located? Any chance of seeing it run in the midwest?
