Finally a show I can sit back and watch and see the shit I do, AND be inspired to do more, and most importantly, LEARN SOMETHING NEW!!!

I constantly fight the demons of design... I can build shit in my head faster than I will ever be able to build them.

I just like to see people living the dream... creating, bending, cutting, welding... using shit they have lying around instead of BUYING it.

Good luck to you all... I just wish I was there helping out.

Home run Jesse, Kick ass show!

 

I was telling my son a Jesse James/Bob Merkt story...

He said I should share it.

I drove out to help my brother Matt get his av8 running... so I wanted to go by and see Bob.

So we drive over to ASS... and as we're walking up to the office, Jesse and his kids walk out. I've never met him, but recognized him so we sorta gave each other a casual nod and a "hey" and Matt and I went in to the office.

Once in the office, we were greeted by a guy working the counter... selling T-shirts and shit. He asks where we're from and I say "Livermore, up in NorCal and Matt here lives in Austin"

We look at some of the neat shit in the office and the counter guy asks if we're into cars.

That's when Matt says "Yea, Sam here's built some cars... you may have seen his stuff in magazines... blah blah blah... shit, he's more famous than Jesse James!"

Matt's a smart ass... we like to have fun.

Anyway, the guy asks us if we want a tour, we say "Yea!"

We walk out into the shop and up walks Bob.

Bob says... "Holee Shit! Sam Strube!!! How's it going? You drove all the way out here??"

He then comes up and we shake hands... do a manly shoulder hug.

Matt leans over to the counter guy and says "See, told ya he was more famous than Jesse James..."

Hahahahahaha!!

After all the years we have known each other, this was the first time we met, so it was finally great to meet each other, grab lunch etc.

Bust ass, build shit... and teach.

Definitely a pleasant surprise from Discovery channel.

I loved those last couple minutes, Bleedster sighting, and was that DW? very cool

 

Now that was an hour well spent! Damn good job on the show and the car!

 

Oh. Was this just a one time show, kinda like Motorcycle Mania, or is this going to be a season with several episodes?

That black 32 coupe is bitchin!!! So far, the only thing that I don't like about the show is the OCC commercials!

i liked it and it was cool my wife watched it all and got to see the car at the end complete. maybe giver her a little more faith in me completing one. granted not as good.
