Hot Rods Our latest project-Andys Instant T

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Born a HotRodGal, Nov 14, 2022.

  1. The Makeover has begun ... The Lance Miller "LeaseMobile" Instant T is going back to its original 1968 form!

They are putting all of the correct parts back on ... including:
    • 671 Blower with 2-4’s
    • Vertex Mag
    • 12 spoke spindle mounts up front
    • 15X10 Ansen slot mags in the rear
    • GoodYear Blue Streaks all around
Look for it at the 2023 Grand National Roadster Show !!!

  2. Pro-Fine Metal Finishes (in Hayward, CA) did a fantastic job on the 12 spokes:

  3. Those wheels look amazing!

  4. On a side-note ...

Terri @Born a HotRodGal Hollenbeck has a custom purse made from the same leather and fabric in the interior of their 2016 AMBR Deuce Roadster:

... so it was only fitting that she have a custom pair of VANS to match their LeaseMobile Instant T:

Might be the only pearl and candy faded brake drums in existence.

what is the story behind the name Leasemobile??

  13. I’m not positive … but I would assume (and you know what “they” say about ASS-U-ME-ing :D) that Lance Miller owned (or was affiliated with) a San Bruno company named “LeaseMobile”:

Perhaps Terri @Born a HotRodGal Hollenbeck will chime in here ... and tell us the “real” story behind the name.

had to check the google. looks like "Leasemobile" has moved to Burlingame. seemed like an odd thing to put on your Hot Rod. probably wrote the whole car off on his taxes:)

    Hi
@HEMI32 is pretty correct, The original owner of the car was the owner of the company Leasemobile, at some point and time it was covered up by someone, so we just had to find it in there, seemed the correct thing to put it back on.

This makes me gladI own a "T" coupe. Been thinking about those "T" headlights for my car............Thanks for sharing, I am really enjoying this................

  21. Looking forward to seeing it in person at GNRS and meeting you.
Will you be in Roy's display booth?

  22. I love this stuff...

I got hooked on street rods in the early 1970s when I found Rod Action Magazine and Street Rodder and Rod & Custom too....

This style hot rod was all the rage back then...

Magical times they were....wish we could go back and stay in that era...

Love the fact you found one of your dads old hot rods...

    Thanks for sharing the journey...

So one of the best things about this project has been the stories that are attached to it, while speaking to the original owner last night about a few things I asked about the assembly of the car and he informed me that the car was actually built at the 1968 Oakland Roadster Show on the stage by my dad and his buddies... Well that was a new one I had not heard. After the show it was sold and Lance purchased the car and took it apart and repainted and made it his own. So here is a couple of pics of its first. life at the 1968 Oakland Show ...Enjoy
