Probably dumb, but I don't know the answer and I've heard the only dumb question is one you don't ask.:eek:

I replaced my SS BBQ grill grates and they sent a defective one that the bars weren't welded well and broke loose. They are replacing, but didn't ask for the defective one back.

Can the SS bars be welded using a normal steel MIG wire in my MIG?

I just need it to hold together...nothing structural....just hold a nice rib eye!!!

Yes … will hold just fine
The only down side is that spot can rust
Or you could go buy a small roll of ss wire

Don't risk a good rib eye man! TIG it with stainless!
