    Not mine, but i did see an "odd" one in North Carolina. It was just outside Garner, maybe on Rock Quarry road. It was a skeleton riding a chopper!!! There was also a '46 chevy sedan delivery in the yard. I should have stopped, but I had been warned about stopping at places in Johnson Co. :eek::D

    lets see some flamed mailboxes

  11. Denise, I know why it's in the basement and not on the post. Very good. Mine is shaped like hers but just ordinary. Black with a purple scallop covered in white pearl overlay. If I ever get caught up, I'm going to do something different. I had one with flames and it got stolen years ago. The next one won't be able to remove without a winch truck.

    Nope, he's got one of the later tin ones. I don't think there is a kid in the neighborhood that would venture on my porch with any kind of a weapon.

    Hey Royalshifter, how long did it take to convince that dude to sell that thing? I almost bought the whole house just to get the mailbox... Julie told me the guy wasn't willing to sell it.

    Basement??? Not mine, it's on the top of the fridge in the kitchen and I use it as a breadbox. :D I wish I could put it outside but I'm afraid it might not be there in the morning.

    Hey, I think I just spotted the same mailbox on another forum on headlights. Look in the background. Can you buy these?

    House warming gift from a buddy of mine. Post is 4x4 tube filled with concrete, 1/4" aluminum treadplate side panels. The post has rusted up real good, and contrasts with the aluminum panels. Plasma cut flames/flag. :D

  24. Some cool mailboxes, HRLC's is the winner so far.

    Denise, surely you're not gonna put that outside are you?

    It'll walk off inside 24 hours.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Mines not necessarily cool, just a standard larger size white mailbox, but, it resides on a post and will spin 360* horizontally so we don't have to stand outside in the street to get the mail.
    (Nowhere to run to alongside the fence and the street is a bit of a dragstrip.)
    It has a simple cam setup which keeps it facing the street and is easy to spin when you want.
    So far, winds up to 70 mph in town, probably 60+ at my place and the mailbox hasn't spun on it's own....
    I treasure it too much to put it outside. It's been on the top of my fridge for two or three years now and will probably stay there for many, many more years to come. A real conversation piece when folks are standing around in the kitchen looking at the car stuff.
    I had a nice flamed one but the kids stole it, I had the wooden post set in concrete,they sawed it off. funny story here, when i was a kid everyones mailboxes were always getting smashed,kids in cars with baseball bats hitting the posts. my dad had gotten fed up,so he took a three inch piece of solid steel rod,sunk it in concrete, and painted it to look like a flimsy post. you can guess what happened the next time a kid rode by with a bat. thats was the last of the mailbox smashings in that area
