Tom, Super nice work and a ton of patience. I have to ask you how you are backing up the weld seams across the cowl while planishing . I'm trying to imagine myself reaching under the dash with a dolly and then being able to see what I'm doing when planishing the weld topside. I'm just curious , I'm not that agile anymore. Bill
I may have the last unchopped 5W left. Styles change and this one is kind of permanent. I remember tweed, pastel, M/T's sticking out, flames, jacked up, centerlines, wide fronts. All gone. It is also kind of like a poser. Looks racy but not a race car. I remember 671's with a carb inside. Same thing. I admire the talent. It is incredible. It is just not anything I would own.
Hammer and dolly nothing fancy . You pop through the windshield while kneeling in the car Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Wow,I need to get POSER for my license plate on my chopped to hell wanna be race car of a model a. Thanks
Chopped or un-chopped...who gives a fuck. Do what you want with your own car, this isn't communist China. For fucks sake...
I am 67 and I think I know how I like my car by now that is why tom has it. tray32 hit right on it thanks
Hey Flop. UBELIEVABLE work as usual. So. can I ask a couple of questions since I have a devil of a time welding sheet metal? 1-110V or 220V welder 2-welder settings? 3-Mig or Tig? 4-type of wire used? I have a 220V mig welder and have a devil of a time not burning through when butt welding sheet metal. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I saw you hanging with a couple of guys at Hershey this year but was too embarrassed to come up and say hello like some star struck kid. Would have been like meeting George Barris or Gene Winfield. I probably would have just said something stupid as I fumbled over my words. Any help would be appreciated. Thx, Andy
Sorry buddy I haven’t mig welded in 7 years . I’m just a normal person nothing special . See me out come talk ! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
everybody send pictures of your work to andy before doing them to make sure they aren't poser. there are no rules. they've been chopped forever.
All I want for Christmas is chop by Flop!!! If I only lived closer to Pittsburgh, well actually not this time of year! Don't worry about running out of unchopped 5W's, there's plenty of them left. Don't worry, this one will never be touched. Its a 55,000 mile original V-8 car. This one........maybe........but I think I'll leave it just the way Henry made it. But this one really needs to be chopped! So call me a "poser" too! I would really like to do it myself so I had better keep studying Flop's posts before I get out the sawzall and ruin one of Henry's finest.
when to see Flop today and the car looks great, no regrets for chopping or my choice or barbers. his work is second to none. Thanks Tom
To chop, or not to chop..haha! Nice work by the way.... I noticed another member asked, how many hours? Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
The first step to recognizing you have a problem is to admit you have a problem.......I HAVE A PROBLEM!!! I've been through the 12 step program at the Henry Ford Clinic and Sanatorium more times than I can count but it's no use. I guess I'll just have suffer through life with this horrible addiction and live with it!
Hey Freak, When you get your car home, let me know so I can come over and put some eye prints on it Bill
I sleep in a van at Hershey and grill out for dinner . I’m not fancy !! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
We gotta hang out again hahahaha !! Get your motorcycle a boot again !! Maybe some handgernades and a muffalata ! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Oh you better not dare mess up Henry’s intentions at cut on that thing damn you!! I can’t believe this debate still goes on. I wonder if anyone is mad that I replaced all the metal that rusted away on the bottom of my 32s and was no where to be found. MMS, I hope to see that body come back to life. @Flop should be an inspiration to us all even if we fall short of his craft there will still be some bad rods on the road. I for one know that doing half as good on my chops as he will garner some cool sh?t! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Just a reminder the Hershey Preregistration paperwork arrived last week, needs to be in by the middle of February, we'll be there in nine months that will be 49 years in a row for me. Glad the hobby has young guys like Flop. Bob
