Hot Rods Opinions/Feedback on Car For Sale

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by anothercarguy, Apr 24, 2019.

  1. Just to add 2 cents and clear what seems to be a little confusion - there are no import fees per se when you bring an old car across the border unless you hire a customs broker to clear it for you. Old cars are not subject to emissions regulations because they didn’t exist at time of manufacture- so nothing to be compliant with. Importing an old car into the USA is not a ‘black art’ as some might think. There are steps that have to be taken-outlined on the US Customs website-but nothing you can’t do yourself if you were to bring it across the border yourself.

Don’t limit your marketing to only the HAMB.

He might have better luck doing a trade. Lots of guys don't have the cash but would do a trade for another car, either on or off topic. Maybe a trade and cash? Also, there are a lot of other places to sell cars that will reach a wider audience and won't be so era specific for what they want to see.

    Have you advertised it locally?
    Used Victoria, Nanaimo, Vancouver, etc?
    Kijiji in Canada?
    You need a wider market.
    Too bad about those bumpers.

  6. Definitely a tad dated, the Volare front ends were a good swap prior to the Mustang II advent. Better than a Nova or Camaro clip. The color is good, the car is in overall good condition and it would cost a lot more than $18k to build another one. It might sell better on eBay Motors in Canada, here on the HAMB, the market is limited.
