I'm going to side with the 5 spoke guys. I like option 1 and I don't mind (quite like) the mags on the rear, steels on the front. Looks hot and this is a hot rodding scene we're all in - having a hot looking shop truck (even if it is a tool) is very common. I'm guessing the "redrill the hubs to accept a more common stud pattern" idea has been floated and rejected? If they're new hubs didn't they have a more common stud pattern to chose from? Just sayin'. I'm actually guessing that your obvious choice was to keep looking for mags. Doggies on steel are too boring in my opinion (unless it's lowered which will give it a whole new taste) and I think your truck should have some style.
Get some Center line champ 500`s and a set of BFG raised white letter radials, should dress it up real nice.
The 3rd choice. It gives it a stock sleeper look . Now that you have good brakes you might be swayed to bump up the HP.
Option #3, but GAWD don't do them black. It's fugly. Not red either though that's become almost standard. Use older than stock dog dishes and ribbed beauty rings for a cooler look.
Step up and buy the new ET's that you really want . It's only money and you can always make more . Compromise is just that .
You've said that you NEVER agree with my choice of wheels, so my opinion may be the kiss of death. But you asked. Mismatched wheels look crappy, and always have. Like having your shirt tucked in on one side and hanging out on the other. Don't consider that. Of the options you've shown, #3 is the only one I could tolerate. Finding 2 more mags would be fine too.
Surprised that since it was posted here, no one came up with a set of fronts for you...... C'mon guys, it's for the boss ..... But the guys who said 3 hole moons got it right.
Now that's a nice F-00. As much as I'm a fan of steel wheels on trucks I think this era of F-100's just look right with 5 spokes or sprints. These trucks are very plane and in my view they need the wheels to set them right. And I might catch shit for this but I don't care, the disc brake upgrade on a driver is a must. Stopping there is no question but maintenance is so much easier also. Hell, IM even thinking about ant-lock on my 56 F100.
I have a turquoise F-250. It came with black rims and standard truck caps. I painted the rims home depot .97cent spray paint off white. I thought it was too pink, but what the heck. After all was said and done , trucks on the road with steelies and poverty caps, it looks like an ad for the F-250. Chrome reverse and baby moons are always desired, but,,,,its thirsty too.
Ryan, Have you considered buying a matching pair of E-T and just having the holes plugged and re-drilled to 5 1/2. Im sure someone like Eric Vaughn can do it. I had to have a wheel repaired and it had an aluminum plug threaded into the hole tigged and then re-drilled. Mind you I only had to do one lug hole but it may be a possibility. You may want to check it out. But then I'm a 5 spoke guy all the way.
Plugging, and re drilling is done all the time. Eric changed my rear Americans from late Ford to Chevy. I'm sure someone closer to Ryan can do it for him.
