    Have you driven it yet?

If not, you should before you decide to lift the front any more.

Is it going to have Hilborn Injection or a Blower on it? (Gasser's do)

If not, just use a factory flat hood, NO cowl hoods.

If no injectors or blower try the old "ramcharger" style scoop, was heavily used in the mid sisties to early seventies...

  8. Whatever you do donot put a teardrop on it.

They look real good with a mailbox screwed on there.

I wish hilborn or blower!!! I have driven the car and it actually drives good. Just trying to see what people have done I want something different but cool.(NO COWL HOOD)

  10. most scoops of that era were open to the front, and fairly low.The Thunderbolt "teardrop"scoop was used also

  11. Beano, you and I are gonna have to agree to disagree on the bubble hoods,,I love them! :D HRP

The ford truck 50's 60's model has a badass scoop.

  13. Front height is good - don't make a street freak out of it!
If you're not going to run a Hilborn or a tunnel ram, then I'd go with a cowl induction on that body style.

This is the style of scoop we ran in the late '60's and into the early '70's on Chevy II's, Tri-5 Chevys, etc.
We made ours out of sheet metal back then.

You can buy it now in fiberglass on Speedway Motors in Nebraska.....

If you don't need to run one, but WANT to run one, the old Ford truck scoop would be my choice.

    something like this:

Thanks for posting these different options ahotrod

  20. In my opinion, I like this one.

  21. I love them too, but for some reason in my mind they just don't work on everything.

What I think would actually look good on the little Nova would be one of those scoops off of a Ford truck. Or maybe one of those cal custom finned scoops. The truck scoop would look better in my opinion though.

A hot rod forgive me but that is what I was thinking about when I said a mail box. You are correct though those got used a ton.

  22. Back in the day, 1970ish, a guy with a 170cid '62 falcon pop riveted one like this on his hood. He even had the push door rigged so when he stepped on the gas the push door would open. Laughed our a$$es off.

  23. There used to be one in Redding when I lived up there for a bit that used a news paper box, it still even said The Chronical on it. I still chuckle every time I think about it.

The ford truck scoops are going for like 400 bucks!!!

  28. I've seen them a lot cheaper than that even here lately. Just keep an eye out.

This is just opinion and is no reflection on your ride or your style, but I have always though that a scoop without something sticking up into it just didn't look right. Have you thought about louvers?

  29. Don't, lower the back a little first

    X2, NO COWL HOODS !!!!!

    How about this one

Or get one of the old F600 scoops
