I'm putting a 1 wire on a Chevy that has an external reg. Do I just unplug the alt and reg wires and leave them? Can I just tape them up and go on with the 1 wire install? Where do I hook up my aftermarket volt gage?....Thanks

Yes just unplug the old wires and run a wire from the battery post on the new alternator back to the battery. Just hook your volt meter to positive and neg at the battery. and you should be good to go. Hope this helps

Run the big hot wire you have now to the alternator's single post and remove or just tie up the other wires. The voltmeter hooks to any wire that's hot with the ignition switch on.
