    Thanks, I know for one thing there's a lot more room inside the cab now.

    You can save the hard channel if you are able to drive it comfortably with sufficient headroom. THAT is a hard channel. Lots of cool history, but if you intend to actually enjoy it, you have to be comfortable, too. You'll figure out what you want. Above all else, make sure it is SAFE ! Safety trumps everything.     Just can't make the changes I think need to be done without loosing it's originality.

Well, I would not feel bad making the needed changes, I have seen many VERY nice stock model As cut up and modified here on the HAMB. not that I have a problem with cutting up a nice A it's just this truck needs some changes to be driveable. I don't see how you could drive it with that steering column angle, and the wheel must have been right in your face. and yes, the front shock mounts need to be redone.
