Ok, I am confused. These threads pop up with some really neat cars and parts from time to time. The owners are berated and belittled with "going to build it some day", won't sell, hoarding and on and on. Are we 100% sure these are in fact not the backyards of HAMB members? Is it not really what we all strive for?

    Confused.

Not 100% sure and not my backyard either. I do not strive for anything like this in my yard if I cannot keep under roof I really do not need it.

I agree . Maybe they want to pass it on to their kids, or maybe it's their only tie to a fond memory. Why judge? I just enjoy it like looking at the photos of some old person and wondering what their history was like. If they could be saved great but that would belong in the barn find thread.

Not that I'm aware of. Drug it out of some woods in SE Ohio about 5 years ago and it went to a Hamber in WV. That's the last I've heard of it.

  9. I too have a soft spot for tall T's and nail heads. I also have a soft spot for Nash Metropolitains and I see two of them in the background!

whats the story on this car, are you restoring it harmsway or did someone else scoop it up and restore it? I'd love to see more pics and more of the background story on the car, owner & current restoration.

  12. Good thread but, each year I read post where someone says "i've never chopped a car before and I'm going to do all the cool modifications i've ever read about, yadayadayada" and what they end up with, what started as a good car to one that's turned into an abandoned POS sitting in a field or, RR, all the hard work done. Thats sad!

  15. That's true. But in my case, there are dedicated people out there who have put in years of hard work to learn skills I don't have and that I will pay good money to for a job well done. Mechanical, nut's and bolts I have no problem with, body and upholstery, thats another story.

  17. Built in 1959.............must have been a coupe shortage.
Apparently with a SBC, still has the Chevy 3 speed tranny with "Sparkomatic" or equivalent shifter, and a 57-59 Ford rearend. Pretty cool two-tone r&p interior, with white ribbed running boards. Friend found it in a NC barn, and passed it on to me.

Bringin it home next weekend. Abandoned no more.

My 32 when it was found. I'm guessing it was abandoned in the 40s/50s.
