There are some abandoned hot rod projects out there that should not be rotting away in fields, barns, deserts and forests. Here is a thread just about a once fun and exciting hot rod project that are now abandoned. Here is a few to start the thread off.

looks like "Blue Racer" was a contender at one time. The roadster in the barn has some serious potential if you can get Paul Bunyan to retrieve his saw collection.

Those don't exist in NY. I'd love to drag any one of them home.

Well Chris, all it would take is a healthy offer and come get it. But, if you're a Mopar fan you may be more interested in the chopped 36 with the 360 and 727. Bob

The blue roadster was in a book that came out several years ago, "The All-American Hot Rod" I think it was. The car was restored to it's previous glory by the same guy who built it as a kid.

I seen this one on Bringatailer and if I had not just picked up mine, I would have been all over it! I really like the V8 converted healeys.

  25. I have been looking for a 20s-30s sedan for YEARS here in the northeast, and ever since the "rat rod" thing hit, the owners of rotted out heaps of rust are commanding stupid money. I can't wait for the craze to die out, so there will be more abandoned projects for sale cheaper than they currently are.
That being said, Bob, what's that 36 going for?

  26. Can't be looking that hard, I've bought plenty of them cheap enough. Unless you think $500-$1000 is stupid money, in which case you're going to be looking for all eternity.

This car was actually run out of the Detroit area by Loren McCombs,.. and in fact was a two time National Champion NHRA U.S. Nationals 1964, & Spring Nationals Bristol 1966.

The car with the "saw collection" is this one.

A neat story of the man and the car in his early life and how he is bringing it back.
