As promised. I have done a lot more than this, but lets start with the dash. I cut a strip from the oem dash and found a good depth and height and stuck them together, then made the ends.pretty straightforward. 2. That Lincoln dash was really done neatly; looking forward to more.

You may notice i have a window regulator ,but the speedo covers it. This presented a problem. I did'nt want an ashtray so i made a lincoln knob from some scrap that was surprisingly close in shape that turns in a bolt i made into a bushing. Next i bought a weedwacker for 5.00 from a tweaker and used it's flexible steel driveshaft to link the knob to the backside of the regulator. I extended the worm gear shaft the coupler could bolt to it. There is so much more to it than this, so just know- it took a massive amount of time to do this.im sure more talented hambers would have knocked it out quick but not me lol. Add to that, i really underestimated the work involved with the windshield frame and windshield to body hinges , and lining up the regulator etc. IMG_20180924_001212.jpeg IMG_20180923_224823.jpeg IMG_20180925_221625.jpeg IMG_20180926_210309.jpeg IMG_20180926_210434.jpeg IMG_20181008_011113.jpeg 20181001_115431.jpeg

We now enter into the "i cant afford this if i screw this up " phase. The speedo. My speedo was nice but had a lot of chipped out paint, some rust and the odometer wheels were f*#$ed. My friend pat found me another movement in much better condition. At 0 miles even. Same wheels, but the housing was smashed.
Gut check 1- opening the speedo.
    2. Removing the speedo needle. Theres a trick to this, get it wrong and its pure hell. I somehow pulled it off.
    3.swapping the wheels.terrifying terror.

While i was in there i cleaned everything, repainted the letters, and used Griots garage plastic polish. I really like the stuff. Im not sponsored or anything but griots is super active in our local hotrodding community and i do like to show support ,but really the stuff just works well. Now the movement is back together, and the bezel is getting chromed. The perimeter gauges are beat from rust so im currently figuring out what i will replace the movements with

I've been tackling the rear window roll down as well. Nothing spectacular, i pretty much just copied what @Enbloc did .his 3w thread is pretty rad. 20181016_113831.jpeg 20181019_094450.jpeg 20181019_094503.jpeg

Great work Nat. I've been searching hard to find pics of this area as mine is bust rusted. Really great work here. Glad I found this. Hope you'll be making the whole thing. Looking forward to more pics.

Thank you, hamber Enbloc has a writeup on this as well. Common problem with these cars. If i did another one today though i would use a 2 arm regulator .the window will roll more smoothly, especially if you are using universal type window channel felts.

  9. I was wondering a bit about how the single arm regulator would carry the window level; there is so little square edge to that window to keep it from tilting. I had to adjust the arms on my stock regulator so the window went up and down straight.

Great news. The front clip went on as good as you couuld hope for .this is all just static. I didnt adjust the hoodrods, fender braces, or anything. I have never seen my car all together as a full roller for as long as i have had it. It was a GREAT day. 13. Just keep pushing Nate. I know it's a long road. Nobody knows more than I do. But it looks like you are making good progress. hammer down!

  14. Congrats, man; this is the big step that makes it all worth while. Those gaps around the fenders and grille can be the most problematic; and yours look pretty damn good right out of the box!

I agree. I have had this and 2 other combinations of front clips, and front fenders, all with crazy gaps but this time it went together 100× better and faster. The front fenders are done done done with metalwork! Woohoo!

I do like the 36 grill better
    Still would prefer a 35/36 over a 32 (gasp)
