Oldsmobile Big block

    Ok I bought a 55 olds with a big block in it running driving car.I'm not to educated on olds big blocks it looks alot like a chevy but can anybody suggest any websites or catlogs for this car in general to find parts for either the car or the motor

  3. It's exactly the same as a Chevy. Only everything's different. I think the kanuter valve interchanges though. See if your 455 is pre-'70. They had a high flow kanuter valve on them. Very rare and collectabe.

    How in the heck does a self proclaimed Hot Rod builder confuse an Olds 455 with anything?

    "It's got a carbuerator in the middle and a distributor in the rear...must be a Chevy!"

    easy questions first, I guess...

    How many bolts hold down each valve cover?
    does the thermostat housing have a bypass hose that runs into the water pump?

    is there a large sized oil fill tube in the timing chain cover?

    Answer these and we can then move on to the important questions.

    thanks guys just don't know much about oldsmobiles and just need to be pointed in a direction.
