My 55 olds motor is in the machine shop. I have gathered up just about everything I need to drop it into my 46. [I am bolting it to the original transmission]. I have an original Olds steel flywheel and an aluminum one, What clutch assembly should I use, and where should I go for a pilot bushing? Thanks Rich
Rich, Pilot may be found at NAPA or from Tony at Ross Racing Good question on the clutch! Might need one of those early Merc units that we used back in the day when installing SBC's. The Olds may be different though but I bet someone will jump in here with the correct info.
I did this swap a few years ago,in my 46 merc i got most parts from wilcap in ca. steel flywheel,10"1950 mercury borg and beck pressure plate ,pilot ,plate, mini starter from tony at ross , engine is a 1950 303 stock exhaust manifolds .
