Well, here's one of the latest pix of my old 50. I think it got a cheap squirt back in the 60s but nothing but ma nature since then. This car has been more fun then I could have ever imagined.

At what point does it stop being patina and start being pstupid and paugly? Some of them should be called what they are Rat Rods. If thats the look you want, fine. I'd take the time and effort to make it like new.

bump! I like my pstupid and paugly car. Apparently other folks like their's too.

  12. Lots of folks like mine, but I see a car that needs painting.

My Viper Brother, Francis's Merc needs paint, too.

Here's our A with very old brush paint job. It's going to be stripped of it at some point.

    Sweet!

I've got a '48 B.F.Goodrich with the same story. The original owner told me her father said if he was going to buy her a new bike it was going to have a basket so she could pick up the groceries and he made her wax it every week. ...still had paste wax around the fender rivets and it came with the original receipt and Delta head lamp instruction sheet.

Hehehehe, i just asked the question. Some of those cars and trucks appear to be in pretty good cond. Slight wear from normal use. But seriously, when does it stop being patina and need fixing and painting. Aren't rust holes a little past patina? I'll fight with you to defend your absolute right to have it your way. But when it gets rusty, don't ya need to get out a roller or something? Peace and Love, Your bro, Allan

Sometime this year (I hope), I'm gonna give my fenders the fresh paint they deserve.

You know, I think when the upper crust antique crowd speaks of "patina", they are referring to a finish that has been meticulously maintained over the years but shows slight signs of age.

Yep, I think we stretch the envelope with the "patina" label.

FWIW, I really like most of the cars in this thread, whatever you want to call the finish.
