I forgot two and some pieces of afew others. I amnot sure what to do with those that were cut up to keep the wind out of a chicken coupe. Rod

Recently scored this double-sided reverse-painted F.W. Woolworth sign. This is the one that would have been mounted above the double entry doors of the store. Came from a Woolworth's in Memphis, TN.

Thanks! We're really happy to have it. It does have goldleaf letters and a painted maroon background. It's got a few nicks in the edges of the glass but that just gives it a little character. The plan is to build a simple wooden frame for it and get it hung up.

  7. The old Oakville Inn sign in downtown Oakville. Sorry for the poor camera phone pics.

That Red Lodge Cafe sign is a beauty! Now go back and get us some shots at night when it's lit up! :D Or better yet, a video clip of the animation!

I'd like to oblige you, but I was only in Red Lodge for an afternoon and am back in Los Angeles now. Maybe there's a HAMB'er in the area with a camera.....

Another salt flats sign to add to the collection.... Gilmore Gasoline stuff is pretty hard to find, but a Gilmore sign that mentions the salt flats is AWESOME!!!

  13. Here are some signs I posted earlier in this thread, well they have all been taken down since then. So sad, I really don't like it when I see them replaced with modern plastic. When I noticed the new Firestone plastic shit going up I got busy right away and got in touch with the sign company doing the work and asked where the old Neons ended up, Oh we took them to the dump was the reply.

I doubt they are that ignorant, but who knows?
The Firestone sign for sale here in Phoenix looks like it may be the same situation. Somebody wants 5K for it:

  16. Guy was surprised anyone would be interested in it. Some sign shops have their finger on the pulse......and some don't.

Early porcelain AAA sign. Rough, but I have never seen one with this old logo before.

  28. This was the home of Tigerstedt Photo Studio
One of the oldest photo studios in Calgary, responsible for most
of the photos in our Glenbow Museum.
Studio was closed down many years ago, then turned into a coffee shop.
The block is being sold for redevelopment, ie demolition.
There has been a lot of talk about saving the sign, I really hope someone does.
It has been many years since the buzz and hum has emitted from it.

I obviously jacked these pics from the net.

  29. Wonderful building! But mainly I hope that someone has the resources to save that incredible sign!
