Save that '51! Cool old mild custom. Shaved, 54 Pontiac grill, Buick tailights, louvers... cool.

That one and the 46? Ford coupe with the front end up blocked up are neat, the 46? appears to an old drag car; the windows are plastic the front end has extra coils, the owner of this place says he still has the "full race" flathead that was in it.

is this place in some sort of flood plain? seems like most the cars are 1/2 buried to the axle.

Better to find them in the dry southwest where they are not so rotten.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing. Dig those louvers in the Shoebox. Lots of good stuff there, seems like they've sat untouchable for a while? Hope they are not getting crushed. Ever.

Welcome to Illinois! Don't expect there to be any actual metal in the mud, it's likely dissolved years ago. A real shame, some nice stuff there.

Is this yard about 6-8 blocks from the train tracks? I swear I saw this on the way down to Quincy this fall on the Amtrak. It looked like a city block of cars in the trees with corn fields on three sides and a yard on the fourth between it and the tracks.

What is that one car with the twin tail lights - there's a second pic of this 2 door - light colored with bad rear quater rust, driver door window gone/rolled down?

  23. Its a Lloyd LP400 or LP600. No too rare as several was sold in the states, a few guys even built gassers using Lloyd bodies in the -60´s. An ugly little car...

But a car deserving to be restored to its former custom glory is the 49-50 Ford. That one looks good!

  24. the 4th picture is a 55 dodge. those are also the deluxe tail lights for that year, and the 6th picture down is a 1954 buick.

Rusty, he only wants to sell whole cars. He thinks 90% of them are saveable, but honestly, I think most of them would crumble to pieces if moved. Quite a few have rusted through the roof! He will only part out cars that he considers "parts cars" and there aren't too many. There are a few, like that 46, that could be brought back to life.

That louvered shoebox has a nailhead... but it far too gone.

The owner is really nice and has a story to go with every car. There's a 63 Galaxie out there that was badly wrecked. He said some teen discovered he could jump a bridge with it, so he went back to town and got 5 of his friends... not realizing the extra weight that added ...and attempted another jump... and failed. His 5 friends died and he lost an arm. There's also the 37 Buick he met his wife in...

That louvered and frenched shoebox would make great lawn art. I'm sure my wife would love it.
