Hey man, I just realized. I've been floored looking at your pics and didn't think to ask, you need any help? Any parts or anything holding you up?

I feel like I'm the guy sitting around the shop talking and watching you do all the work!

Not that you look like you need it or anything, that's just what HAMBers do for each other. It's cool to be able to lend a hand or a part to someone doing something really neat like you are, that's where I'm coming from :)

little tip for u when cutting rivets, cut a slot in the head with a cutoff wheel all the way down to the base metal, then they come off real easy with the air chisel.

    awesome work BTW

Subscribed! Cool thread reminds me of the rusty stuff I fix for myself :D

  17. Since I've never been described AS 'the sharpest tool in the shed'... I'm compelled to ask: In many of your photos you show wrenches hanging on fasteners. Is that just a photo style choice or did you have a practical reason for that?

Looking forward to seeing this car all back together!

Beautiful, man, just beautiful. Fantastic. Thanks so much . . .

Among the many mistakes we have made in this labor of love, none is bigger than letting Max scrap Rusty Senior before I salvaged all the body parts I needed. Lower rear quarters, etc.
I can really be a first-class dumbass sometimes.
Add that to my lifelist of “God, would I love to have another shot at that!!”

Planning on taking a shot at fabricating them (after so much HAMB inspiration), but I'm not real optimistic and enthused about it. Would rather purchase them. EMS has them for 2 doors, not 4.

    Both sides the same.:(

Now why couldn't I think of that? Would be much easier. Thanks Kevin.

Just found your build. Wow! I love seeing the kids involved. Only 1 of my 3 shows an interest and he is easily distracted.:)

    Thanks Scott.
Rather than title individual photos, I have many, many folders that I put them in. So, for example, "left fender removal" will have a bunch of photos, and the wrenches point out where the fasteners I'm removing are located. Just a shortcut, easier for me to put the wrenches on (have to do that anyway) than to write subtitles . . . it's really all about keeping the camera handy and remembering to shoot, shoot, shoot during the work.

Thanks Kathy. I am but a lowly plebe, and appreciate folks like you giving plebes like me plenty of space. Now Tuffy, that's a build thread!! While I was in the driveway pretending to drive, you were in your dad's shop drinking in the grease-filled vibe!!

    There are many distractions, aren't there . . .

3-1/2 years of project in less than 24 hours! We're now 4 years into what sould turn out to be a 6 year project. But I hate to say it, we've gone 9 months straight once without any garage work. Research, distractions, bad habits . . . Billy is the one that pulled me back in. Now we have some budget woes that's slowing us down (yea, us and 10,000 other Yayhoos!:D)
