Got this pic of this old hot rod off a link to the RM Auction that is taking place this month in Arizona. Anyone know anything about it? Sure has a strange title.

I believe it was featured on the Hemmings site earlier this week or last.

    What's strange about the title?

  4. I did not get the title thing either, but I do like the front fenders, HD?

    I really like that woody-style bed...different, but I think it's cool.

Ya know what's funny to me? I see the Oregon plates, but I remember seeing this truck in Laguna Beach California in the mid seventies as a kid...

I think the rear fenders are Servicar too.

That's not so funny you were in Laguna Beach and ended up in Arizona and the truck was in Laguna Beach and ended up in Oregon. ;) the truck may have made it under its own power while you had to be hauled. :D :D

Saw this one at the Portland Swap last year. Really cool car, and a lot of people salivating over it. More than a few things that would be concidered 'sketchy' construction nowadays, but cool nonetheless. I'll try to dig up some pictures that I took...

    I really like this truck.

I have been looking at front suspension ideas for my 29'. The AD option is on my list of ideas.

  17. Can't tell you how much I'd love to see the modifications Harry Miller made to that Olds 3 port head, not mention the exhaust header, and that mag drive on the front of the '28 Chevrolet engine!!!

Also seen it last spring at the Portland swap meet. Took a few pictured of it. It's also in an add some where listed in the six figure range.

  22. That is stupid money.

Pretty cool that it still exists. That hand carved leather pad sewn in the carpet is a nice touch.

I also saw it for sale in Portland last year. A ton of guys were standing around wondering what was what. No money on the truck just for sale.

That's cause if you have to ask you can't afford it. looking at the asking I would fall so deep into that category that I would be close to coming out the other side.

Loads of cool, but I'd still change a few small things.

  27. Did the for sale add really say "oakland roadster show winner? Did I read that correctly? 60 ish maybe.

  28. It did win at the roadster show, I already posted that. They didn't say it won the AMBR, but it did win in '52.
