Who out there still has all their old model kits from the 60s and 70s? If you've got cool pictures of old models, crazy displays or anything related to this post 'em would ya? - Thanks

p.s. Stingrays, Crates, Big Wheels and Hotwheels too!

    Conder,
If you have an "Old Navy" in your area, they have the book "Hotrods & Customs" on sale for five bucks and it has some great pix of old model kits in it. I can take pix of the pix if you want. My scanner needs a rebuild otherwise I would scan them for you.

Here are a couple of models, some built recently, some in the heyday of the model era. Also one unbuilt motorcycle kit in the box.

Here is a pic of an old rod that sits on my mantle.
I think i built when i was 20 so that was 8 years ago.
It still hasnt fallen apart but its super dusty.
I dont remeber if it was the reissue or original because i had both
    at the time.
I need to start modeling again.

Who knows whatever happened to all the models I had when I was a kid, I must have given them away (along with the big box of "extra parts"). I've been looking for one peticular model that I had. As I remember it was a '60(?) Galaxie with gull-wing windows (not doors, just windows). Does anyone remember this car? I would love to find one, it was my favoite.

I bought a box of old models recently. In it were an AMT Ala Kart 3 in 1 still in the box, parts still attached to the trees plus several others from the early 60s.

If you have a Hobby Lobby around check out theirs. They have some pretty cool kits at times.

I've been working on the Roth Super Fink model. A Fink on a motorized skateboard with a Superman cape. I guess they're reissuing 'em. He's got metalflake purple skin. I just need to get some time to finish it. Haven't built any others in years.

I found this a few years back at a local antique shop. Does anyone recognize it from a kit? It looks to be hand made, has wooden body, frame rails and flathead. Interior has red upholstery, shifter, gauges and pedals. One reason I think it is homemade is that the front liscence plate is a 47 from California and the back is a 49. Would be kinda neat to know if it might have been modeled after someones rod. It's starting to show some age but I think it was well worth the 18 bucks I paid. Pool

  17. I must have gotten this for a deal off evilbay, and it came with the Big n Littles pack in the box. Not sure what the psychedelic box art was for...

    Hey,

does anyone know if the old hod rod monster type of models by Hawk?
Davey, Digger, and Daddy were ever re-popped? I think Testors bought
out Hawk in the 70s, but I don't remember any of the hot rod stuff bein'
repopped. My rememberer don't work backwards ta fourty years ago no-
    mo.

  29. You mean these guys?
